When the Drawbacks of a Companion Outweigh the Benefits

Drawbacks of a Vacation Partner
It's finally that time again: vacation is coming up! You look forward to it with joy, you can't wait. Whether alone, with family or other travel companions such as friends or coworkers.
A vacation is usually wonderful and a welcome break from the daily routine. But what are the drawbacks when you don't head off on vacation alone but travel with company?
Traveling with the whole family is wonderful, and everyone has earned their vacation in their own way. However, it can sometimes be very exhausting, especially if you have a big family. Even though nice hours together are practically guaranteed, you mustn't forget that a lot of responsibility (especially for the kids) has to be taken on even on vacation. If frail grandparents are along too, that could become a problem for some activities. If the wife then keeps grumbling because she isn't getting regular shopping in, or her beloved shoes pinch on the hike, stress is practically guaranteed. Everything in the family should be well coordinated so that unnecessary arguments, avoidable risks and potential aggravation are spared as far as possible. Of course, nothing may be missing when it comes to packing either. Documents and medications are especially important, particularly abroad!
- No free scheduling
- Making compromises
- Little relaxation may follow
When the Drawbacks of the Vacation Partner Become Too Big
A vacation with your best buddy or best friend should be much more relaxed.
After all, you get along so well in everyday life and would love to see each other more often. But not so fast: if you actually spend several hours a day on top of each other for several days, maybe even share a hotel room, you often get to know your best friend from a completely new side.
If the travel companion's plans don't match, you're often no longer quite as flexible as in normal everyday life. If your best friend absolutely wants to visit a history museum, for example, while you'd much rather go to the beach, a potential argument is practically guaranteed here too.
You should be clearly sure beforehand that your chosen vacation partner can also be "put up with" over several days, quirks and all.
Traveling Alone and the Drawbacks of a Vacation Partner
If you want to shape the vacation you've longed for entirely individually according to your personal wishes, it's recommended to travel alone. Several parties always demand compromises, that's a law of nature. It should be said, however, that a travel companion or vacation partner can be exhausting at times, but on the other hand you also spend a lot of nice time together. It's like everything in life: there are pros and cons everywhere.
