Heartbroken Over Unrequited Love and Don't Know What to Do?

Unrequited love - now what?
Which of us hasn't been unhappily in love at least once in our lives? But unrequited love can have different causes.
It doesn't matter whether you're no longer satisfied and balanced in your marriage or relationship over the long term, or whether you're in love one-sidedly and your crush doesn't return your feelings. He or she may not even know about your personal feelings. A painful vicious circle of emotions...
Unrequited love - when love is one-sided
Most of us experience our first "big love" back in school. It's the first time we're truly smitten, our newly awakened hormones go wild, with a racing heart and nonstop excitement whenever our "object of desire" shows up nearby. It could all be so lovely and exciting... if only our feelings
were returned. And unfortunately they aren't always. That situation is of course especially painful. Heartbreak is guaranteed, and our thoughts circle around nothing but our crush. Who, sadly, wants nothing to do with us. What can we possibly do to get his or her undivided (positive) attention and spark their interest? Maybe something can be achieved after all, we wish deep down in our subconscious. Unfortunately that's usually not the case and the love remains unreturned.
Unrequited love is when it isn't returned
Whether we tell our beloved about our personal feelings is another question again. Some dare to, but many people never even work up the nerve out of shame or fear of rejection. So very many people will never find out whether this love might have had a chance...
What was true in our school days naturally holds for the rest of our lives too. Again and again we fall unhappily in love, whether at work, in our private life, or through a simple "fling" that suddenly develops into deeper feelings of affection, even love. The circumstances vary quite a lot here.
Being unhappily in love doesn't mean the end of the world. In most cases, this depressing phase of life passes. For some faster, for others more slowly. Heartbreak hurts, it lowers your quality of life and can even lead to depression. Everyone is differently susceptible here. But whatever the circumstances behind your unrequited love (unreturned feelings, being ignored, nothing in common, etc.), one thing holds true in general: no reason to mope and give up on love and feelings! The next love will come, if not today then tomorrow. The fact that you were unhappily in love will gradually fade from memory, and the new love, which also deserves to be loved, will soften the negative memories of past heartbreak and, under the best circumstances, make them disappear entirely!
